Content creation for Sydney Based Artist

Kaycee Crisford, also known as Kaycee Ink, is a Sydney-based tattoo artist who also works as a visual artist under the name @kaycee.artist. Her practice spans both tattooing and painting, with a focus on expressive, vibrant works that translate across different mediums.

In 2021, I worked with Kaycee on a monthly retainer basis to support the development and execution of her social media presence. The goal of the collaboration was to create a more cohesive and visually engaging digital platform that showcased her artwork consistently and professionally.

The work focused heavily on content creation, presentation and platform management, ensuring each piece of artwork was displayed in a way that felt intentional and aligned with her evolving artistic identity.

Rather than simply posting finished artwork, the emphasis was on building a visual system that elevated how the work was experienced online.

Design Direction

The approach to Kaycee’s social media presence centred around clarity, vibrancy and consistency.

Each artwork was treated as a standalone visual moment, supported by carefully designed mockups to give context and depth. Using Photoshop, I created in-situ presentations of her oil paintings, allowing each piece to be visualised within styled environments. This helped bridge the gap between raw artwork and how it would exist in real spaces, adding a layer of professionalism and storytelling to each post.

The overall grid was designed to remain visually cohesive while still allowing each artwork to stand out individually. Attention was given to spacing, sequencing and visual rhythm across the feed, ensuring the profile felt intentional and curated rather than ad hoc.

Copywriting was also developed for social media captions, with a focus on tone consistency and engagement, reflecting the artist’s personality while keeping the messaging clear and accessible.

Deliverables

  • Photoshop in-situ mockups for new paintings

  • Seamless Instagram carousel designs (continuous swipe compositions)
  • Social media content creation and copywriting

  • Monthly content planning and scheduling

  • Instagram grid curation and visual layout management

  • Ongoing support for consistent digital presentation of artwork

The result was a more structured and visually engaging online presence that better reflected the quality of Kaycee’s work, while allowing her to maintain focus on her creative practice.
